Shipyards The main works, bot for dimensions and for productive capacity, are the Fincantieri, able to build ships up to 150,000 DWT. The so called "minor" shipyards situated in the area Zipa have a big building and occupational capacity, with over 1,000 workers and linked activities with over 700 units. They build chemical and gas carriers, oceanographic research ships, ferries, tug boats, supply vessels, fast luxury yachts, blue water and coastal fishing wessels, etc. The area used by the shipyards cover about 500,000 square m.
