- In 2010, the traffic in the port of Ancona was down 2.9%
- Decline in bulk. Growth of containerized freight and rolling stock
 Last year the port of Ancona has handled a total of 8,520,523 tonnes of freight, a decrease of 2.9% compared to 8,772,956 tons handled in 2009 (the year in which traffic was reduced by 7.1% on 2008) .
- In 2010, liquid bulk cargo have dropped by 4.0% to 4,464,289 tonnes. Accentuated the decline in dry bulk, which totaled 811,340 tons (-34.3%). Growing, however, is goods on Tir and trailer, which stood at 2,401,474 tonnes (+15.9%), the goods contanerizzate, grew by 3.2% to 843,420 tonnes. The terms of container traffic in 20 'containers (TEUs) amounted to 110,395 units (+4.6%).
- The passenger traffic was 1,654,821 units (+5.2%), of which 1,518,963 passengers on scheduled services (+1.5%) and 135,858 cruise passengers (+80.1%).
