Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL), a joint venture between the shipping companies Wallenius Lines and Wilh. Wilhelmsen, has announced plans to build a port terminal by 2020 with zero emissions. The project to develop the Castor Green Terminal & Processing Centre, which will be shown this year during a lecture tour, provides for the use of solar energy and wind energy without the use of conventional energy and fossil fuels.
'The Castor Green Terminal - said the CEO of WWL, Arild B. Iversen - is one of our solutions to safeguard the environment and at the same time to build long-term value for our customers and for those who live and work in port communities. Bring the Castor Green Terminal tour is a good way to show our commitment to sustainability and innovation, and to entertain discussions with auto makers on how to reduce environmental risk in their supply chain.
