The Spanish Antitrust Authority CNC (Comisión Nacional de la Competencia) has initiated disciplinary proceedings against associations and operators of the ports of Barcelona and Valencia who work in the field of road transport of containers to and from the two ports, and against Port Authorities of the two ports. He is accused of having put in place anti-competitive behavior by setting rates and conditions of sale or service and limiting or controlling production.
The decision follows a series of inspections conducted on March 23 in various locations of road associations representing businesses that operate in the service of two Spanish ports.
The notification procedure CNC has launched a maximum period of 18 months during which the Antitrust Authority will investigate and reach a decision.
