- Today the National Society of Salvamento has rewarded 40 saviors and celebrated the 140° anniversary of its foundation

- The ceremony on board of the ship from cruise "MSC Orchestra" in the port of Genoa

 Today, on board of the ship from cruise MSC Orchestra moored to the Station Sarittima of the port of Genoa, the National Society of Salvamento (SNS), moral agency Onlus, it has held the solemn national award of 40 saviors, between which 32 medals of gold (two to the memory). With the ceremony the 140° is celebrated also anniversary of the foundation of the SNS and its activity of rescues, aid and solidarity, with very many lives saved, torn to the marosi, to the flutti of water, drownings for congestion, on the rivers, lakes, and in other details situations of fire or tied to calamitous events.-
- Inexplicably suspended in 1964, the ancient tradition of the solemn award comes resumption today in order to remember noble gestures and to assign to merits and acknowledgments also to the memory of saviors that often, in the courageous attempt to save the other people's life, have lost own. The ceremony intends to remember these generous people and these episodes, to reflect with on the topics of the brotherhood and the solidarity, to raise awareness the young people, and at last to educate to the respect of the life own and others. "We want - the president of the National Society of Salvamento has explained, Giuseppe Marino - to give again relief and dignity to a delicate and irreplaceable role, that of the savior, sometimes ignored or quite forgotten from the same people saved".

- They are the 32 medals to the merit in gold assigned. The rewarded ones are Simona Atzeni, Christian Barthelmess, Antonello Bentivegna, Mattia Cambi, Piero Campestri, Riccardo Cerini, Luca Chiappella, Enrico Coraci, Andrea Crispini, Stefano Gabelloni, Julia Giovannini, Peter Goina, Luca Padlocks, Daniel Maino, Alberto Mereu, Piero Morelli, Antonio Naitana (to the memory), Massimiliano Snows, Bernardino Pala, Matteo Piras, Eraldo Peak, Dario Russo (to the memory), Fabio Sambucci, Antonino Santostefano, Artiom Stetco, Horace Zahara, Daniel Zanardi.

- A medal to the merit in gold to the Body of the Harbor offices/Coastgard, is delivered to the general commander, admiral inspector head Marco Brusco. Antonio Paparo, Cacace Layer, Carlo Abbot, Gabriel Antonini are instead the rewarded ones of the Coastgard, all distinguishing for heroism in the rescue of human lives, often in conditions indeed deprive of hope.

- Moreover they have received attested of merit also Marco Bollesan, rugbista of the national Italian, Raffaele Comparone (to the memory), associate SNS, Michela Run, managing of the MIUR, Walter D'Angelo, associate SNS, Vittorio Dani, old associate SNS, Antonio Lamberti, old associate SNS, Ketty Vixen, expert MIUR, and the family Rutabaga, relatives of Mauro Navone, 19-year-old student of awarded engineering 100 years ago of medal of gold, died in order to save a life in the Scrivia river.

- The president of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, has dedicated to the ceremony an own plate of representation.
