Brussels anticipates new measures in order to increase the volume of goods transported on internal the navigable ways



The EU commission has announced new measures in order to increase the volume of goods transported on the rivers and the European channels, that is on the 37,000 kilometers of navigable ways on which currently they are transported only 6% of the goods enlivened altogether in Europe every year. The measures are contained in the package "Naiades II" adopted today from the Commission with the objective to favor structural changes in the long term in the field of internal the navigable ways with the scope to make circular more easily the goods and to return the field more ecological, let alone than to encourage the innovation and to improve the occupational opportunities.

"Every year - it has emphasized the vice president of the EU commission and responsible commissioner for transport, Siim Kallas - we transport already 500 million tons of goods on our rivers and channels, the heavy means equivalent 25 million. But it is not enough. We must help the transport on the navigable ways to become, in the long term, a field. We must eliminate the throttlings that of it hinder the development and invest in the competences of its force job".

The new measures proposed from the Commission in the first place preview to eliminate the serious throttlings that hinder the full development of the potential one of this field that - Brussels has explained - the insufficient dimensions of the conche depend on, of the bridges or the channels and from the lacking connections, for example that between the fluvial systems of Senna and the Schelda. Therefore the Commission has proposed the modernization of the conche, the bridges and the ship canals and, in the picture of the new mechanism in order to connect Europe (Connecting Europe Facility) and of the guidelines for IT TRY, of giving the priority to them to new opportunities of financing in favor of internal the navigable ways.

The measures proposed from the Commission for the environmental sustainability and the innovation contain, among other things, new norms on the motor times to encourage investments in technologies to lowlands emissions, let alone a support for research purposes and the innovation.

In order to improve the interconnection with the other forms of transport, in the picture of the current review of the fluvial intelligencies agency, the EU commission will introduce proposed times to improve the systems of handling of the cargo and to reduce the administrative formalities.

At last the proposed new in order to promote the occupational opportunities will at the market introduce a greater acknowledgment of the qualifications and the careers, improving the access of the job and mobility.

While in topic of fluvial transport, ALOT, the Agency of the Lombardy Oriental for transport and the Logistics, it has organized for next thursday to Mantua, in the Room of the Coats of arms of Palazzo Soardi, a public event of promotion and presentation of the multimodali and computer science solutions for a more efficient and sure transport that it has been the programmed inside of European projects EMPIRIC, Improvement of the multimodale transport and greater integration of the internal and railway navigable ways of Centro Europa (whom co-financed from the program Central Europe) and SEE MARINER, integrated System of monitoring of the dangerous transport goods for marine and fluvial way in South-East Europe (co-financed from the program South East Europe) and that it will see also the presentation of project RIS, River Information System.

The organized convention from ALOT has as objective the presentation to the public of the results turns to the development of a multimodale net in Central Europe, that the modalities comprise all - railroad, road, marine navigation and inland navigation -, the promotion of the strategic role of the ports of the Adriatic North and the Idroviario System of the Italy North towards the regions of Central Europe and Oriental, along the Baltic Adriatic Corridor and the development of the fluvial transport of the goods long the Idroviario System of the Italy North through the implementation of innovative informative systems, which RIS and SEE MARINER, let alone through the one creation net that offers to instruments and services in order to improve the interoperability of the monitoring activities and that you increase the effectiveness of the operations of common prevention of the environmental risks.
