In the 2018 Swiss ports on the Rhine tons of goods have enlivened a traffic almost 4,7 million, with a bending of the -18,9% on the year precedence that is determined by the decrease of the level of the water in the river. Schweizerischen Rheinhäfen (SRH), the society that manages these ports of call that are set as hub Helvetic on the transeuropeo Corridor Rotterdam-Genoa, has evidenced that the volume of traffic enlivened in the first half of 2018 portended a level record for the entire year, but successively the level of waters remarkablly has been wound down until almost the turn of the year.
- In the first semester last year, in fact, the traffic is piled almost 2,9 million tons, with an increase of +8.1% on the same period of 2017, while in the next semester the total has been of 1,8 million tons, down of the -41,7% on the second half of 2017. In the solo third trimester of the 2018 volume of traffic has been of 1,0 million tons and in the quarter next of 788 thousand tons, with bendings respective of the -36,5% and the -47,3% on the correspondents periods of the year precedence.
- In entire the 2018 single containerized trade it has been pairs to 114.345 teu (- 4.1%), of which 44 thousand enlivened in the second half of the year (- 35.7%).
