JAPANESE REGIONAL PORTS RAISE CONTAINER HANDLING
JAPAN'S 32 regional ports boosted handling of full export containers
by more than a third in the first half of 1997.
Figures show the number of stuffed external trade containers handled
rose 36.4 per cent to a total of 221,497 TEUs. All but two ports
enjoyed year-on-year rises in such handlings.
