Chinese competition forces out local container manufacturer
TRENCOR HAS decided to close its dry-freight marine container
factory at Isithebe in KwazuluNatal, quoting high labour costs
and aggressive pricing of Chinese manufacturers as the reason.
The factory employs 1400, but according to Trencor's executive
chairman Neil Jowell, the closure is unlikely to have a negative
