Duty-free ends, but prices stay low
On Thursday, the days of duty-free are over. People travelling
within the European Union's single market will have to pay full
taxes for their booze, cigarettes and luxury goods.
But as shoppers are rushing to the ferries and airports for a
last-minute bargain, many duty-free retailers are promising to
keep prices low.
