EC to launch in-depth investigation into Exxon Mobil merger
The European Commission (EC) announced yesterday that they will
open a second phase inquiry into the proposed merger between the
oil majors Exxon Corporation and Mobil Corporation.
The companies themselves, like the market in general, had anticipated
that this would happen when the Commission came to the end of
the initial one-month probe into the deal.
