Berndsen en tant que président du comité exécutif de l'armement et Robert Woods, nouveau Group managing director, avait tout lieu de faire preuve de satisfaction lors de la conférence de presse donnée jeudi dernier au World Trade Center de Schiphol. Ils annonçaient la bonne nouvelle: P&ONL a réalisé un très bon deuxième trimestre et s'oriente vers le stade de la rentabilité, vers un résultat positif en fin d'année. Le bénéfice opérationnel est passé à 44 mio. d'USD (contre une perte de 18 mio. lors du 2e trimestre 99), tandis que le bénéfice avant taxes a atteint 28 mio. d'USD (contre une perte de 32 mio. en 99). Donc des progressions respectives de 60 et 57 mio. d'USD, soit les meilleurs résultats depuis depuis le début des activités en 1997.
