Port, dock workers press for new wage agreement

NEW DELHI, Aug. 1
THE five federations representing about 97,000 port and dock workers
at the 11 major ports in the country are sorting out with the
bipartite wage negotiation committee (BWNC) to arrive at a new
wage agreement for the workers, which is due since January 1,
1998.
