New Study Says Shipbuilding Jobs Could Double if Bill Passes
OTTAWA, Oct. 13 - The number of jobs in Canada's shipbuilding
industry could more than double says a new study by KPMG on the
effects of Bill C-213 - An Act to Promote Shipbuilding, 1999.
The KPMG study indicates that over 7,000 new jobs could be created,
many of them in job-starved Atlantic Canada and Quebec, if Parliament
passes Bloc MP Anton Dube's Private Member's Bill C-213, now in
its Third Reading.
