Le groupe allemand Schenker a signé une lettre d’intention pour la vente de l’ensemble des activités de Huolintakskeskus, une de ses filiales en Finlande, au groupe familial finlandais John Nurminen. Ces deux entreprises étaient il y a quelques années parmi les plus grands groupes de transport de Finlande, mais elles étaient devenues des sociétés de transport et de logistique spécialisées. “Cette transaction doit se voir dans la polarisation qui se produit dans le secteur entre les grands groupes actifs au niveau global et les sociétés de plus petite taille, qui s’orientent davantage vers les activités de niche plus locales”, nous a déclaré M. Laine, le directeur général de Huolintakeskus.

Cela fait plusieurs années que circulent des véhicules à piles à combustible - cela va de petites voitures à des bus d’aéroport - mais il s’agissait plus de prototypes que de véhicules d’essai. Aujourd’hui, un cap est franchi avec la première camionnette à l’hydrogène fonctionnant en utilisation réelle. La société allemade de transport de colis Hermes Versand Service a en effet mis en service un Sprinter à piles à combustible... pour la location duquel il paiera 500.000 DEM en deux ans.
- Hong-Kong: Kwai Chung marque un temps d’arrêt
Le très net ralentissement de l’économie mondiale n’épargne pas le port de Hong-Kong, où le centre de transbordement de containers de Kwai Chung devrait enregistrer cette année la plus forte chute de trafic de son histoire, indiquent opérateurs de terminaux et analystes. Selon un de ces observateurs, la baisse de l’activité pourrait atteindre 5 à 7%. Kwai Chung était depuis vingt-cinq ans un pôle de croissance quasi-continue à Hong-Kong. Les reculs occasionnels étaient restés très limités. Le dernier en date s’est produit en 1998, lorsque l’Asie avait été frappée par la crise financière. Le transbordement avait alors diminué de... 0,1%.
