Après de très longues négociations, cest finalement le directeur général de Transalliance, Philippe Michel, qui a racheté, en coopération avec la société de capital à risque britannique 3i (via sa filiale française 3i Gestion) et la banque dinvestissement française SNVB (groupe CIC), la société de transport routier quil dirigeait. Le CDR, cest-à-dire le consortium de réalisation des actifs du Crédit Lyonnais, avait tenté à lorigine de vendre le groupe Transalliance Participation dans son ensemble, mais il a dû finalement céder et vendre séparément les deux sociétés Transalliance et Stockalliance. A notre connaissance, il ny a pas encore dacquéreur pour cette dernière, qui constitue la branche logistique du groupe.

La douane a connu hier le premier jour de ce qui doit déboucher sur une vaste action dont lobjectif est dobtenir que le cadre du personnel statutairement prévu soit effectivement complété. Le port dAnvers a été touché par une grève du zèle, Zeebrugge par une grève perlée et le Limbourg et la Flandre orientale par dautres actions des brigades mobiles. Etant donné que les entreprises portuaires avaient été prévenues, les actions nont pas entraîné dimportants retards. La question est de savoir ce qui se passera si les actions font tâche dhuile et se développent dans le temps et en intensité...
- La Sabena a vecu une année difficile malgré une hausse de près de 10% du nombre de passagers
En 2000, la Sabena a transporté 10.933.788 passagers, ce qui représente une hausse de 9,7% par rapport à 1999. Cela ne se reflète malheureusement pas dans les recettes unitaires, a déclaré le président et CEO Christoph Müller. Le taux doccupation pour 2000 sest élevé à 67,58%, en hausse de 1,0 point par rapport à 1999.

A la veille de la discussion en conseil des ministres restreint (hier mardi) de ses projets concernant lavenir de la SNCB, la ministre de la Mobilité et des Transports Isabelle Durant a voulu attirer lattention du grand public, mais bien entendu aussi des autres responsables politiques, sur ses propositions concrètes visant à faire jouer par le rail un rôle plus important dans la résolution des problèmes de mobilité que connaît la Belgique. Force est de reconnaître que le transport de marchandises est traité en parent pauvre. Pour preuve, étant donné la limitation des moyens budgétaires, lindispensable tunnel ferroviaire du Liefkenshoek entre les deux rives de lEscaut à Anvers nest pas prévu dans le plan décennal de la SNCB.
Alors que, un peu tard il est vrai, les responsables anversois commmencent à tirer la sonnette dalarme. Car on se rend compte que les différents modes de transport, route, batellerie, rail, ne seront pas en mesure dabsorber les trafics attendus à la Rive gauche sans provoquer dimmenses problèmes.
