Tidewater Inc. announced today that it has signed contracts with two Far East shipyards for the construction of eight vessels as part of Tidewater's new build program announced in January 2000. It has also announced that its subsidiary, Quality Shipyard L.L.C., will build a total of four vessels.

THE American Bureau of Shipping said it was reviewing the case file of the stricken tanker Castor after Spanish maritime authorities described the ship as "sub-standard", casting doubt on her condition prior to the main deck cracking in severe weather on New Year's Eve.

Dans un appel lancé au ministre compétent Didier Reynders (Finances), le front syndical commun exige en plus des 195 fonctionnaires promis lengagement immédiat de 200 personnes provenant de la réserve de recrutement.
