Un arrêt des travaux pendant trois à quatre mois passe encore, mais à supposer que le délai soit beaucoup plus long, on peut s’attendre à ce que des armements comme MSC, le principal client d’Anvers avec un million de TEU qui doit disposer avec Hessenatie d’un terminal à marée pour la fin 2002, prennent d’autres dispositions. On ne pourrait imaginer mieux pour favoriser un démarrage en flèche du futur terminal de Flessingue.
- Nouvelle hausse du bénéfice du CA de la poste néerlandaise en 2000
C’est un Ad Scheepbouwer extrêmement satisfait qui s’est adressé à la presse hier. “TPG a à nouveau connu une excellente année, avec une hausse de 16,4% du chiffre d’affaires à 9,93 mia. d’EUR, dont un peu moins de la moitié grâce à des acquisitions. Un record depuis que nous sommes notés en bourse”, a déclaré le CEO de l’entreprise postale TPG. Le bénéfice a en outre augmenté plus rapidement que le CA (+25,5% à 526 mio. d’EUR), un résultat principalement attribué aux divisions express et logistique. L’annonce par le gouvernement de son intention de vendre une partie de ses actions dans TPG (voir encadré) n’a donc surpris personne. Pour la première fois dans l’histoire de la poste néerlandaise,
la majeur partie du CA n’a pas été réalisée par les activités postales traditionnelles mais par la division express. “Nous sommes les plus rapides et les plus fiables d’Europe et nous avons la ferme intention d’améliorer davantage encore notre prestation de service cette année”, a ajouté Scheepbouwer. TPG table sur une hausse de 20 à 25% du bénéfice en 2001.
- L’UPTR rencontre Guy Verhofstadt aujourd’hui
Le Premier ministre Guy Verhofstadt rencontrera une délégation de l’Union professionnelle des Transporteurs Routiers (UPTR) ce mardi matin à 9h30. Il le lui a fait savoir dans une lettre communiquée vendredi soir, à la veille d’une assemblée générale de l’UPTR. Celle-ci était consacrée à une révision des statuts - le passage d’une union wallonne à une union nationale - mais il était clair qu’en l’absence d’une réponse du Premier ministre, le sujet d’éventuelles actions aurait été abordé. Verhofstadt a donc réussi à désamorcer la bombe. On ne saura s’il y est définitivement parvenu qu’après la réunion de ce matin. Ce qui est clair, c’est que la pression monte et que la base veut repasser à l’action.
