Shipping register sails into the top ten

HONG KONG'S shipping register is forecast to climb to 15 million
gross tonnes by the end of next year, nearly three times the ship
tonnage in April 1999 when the government introduced cheaper fees.
The extra tonnage will strengthen the SAR's role as a maritime
hub and add extra revenue to government coffers.
