Slow Growth Narrows South Korea's Trade Growth

SEOUL - South Korea's trade surplus in 2000 narrowed by almost
half, to $12.13 billion from $23.93 billion a year ago, and a
further decline was expected this year because of a slowing economy
at home and abroad, the Commerce Ministry said Monday. "Despite
a rise in imports, including higher oil prices, the 2000 figure
