Japan to press on with bid to build rail link

Japan has vowed to fight for a coveted contract to build a high-speed
rail line in China, saying it was undeterred by a deal won by
a German company.
"We are determined to work very hard and make every effort
to win the railway deal," a Japanese transportation ministry
official said, referring to the contract to build a high-speed
transport link
