September exports post record drop

Exports posted their biggest drop on record in September after
terrorist attacks on the US disrupted shipments, threatening to
extend the nation's economic slump into next year.
Overseas sales fell 42.5 percent from a year earlier to US$7.45
billion after dropping 25.8 percent in August, the seventh straight
month of declines, said Hsu Kuo-chung
