One of the great old ladies of the sea said goodbye this week as P & O ferry Norland made her final crossing from Hull to Zeebruge. On board to pay tribute to the only North Sea ferry to carry troops in the Falklands conflict were former master Don Ellerby along with some of the crew and members of the Parachute Regiment. The guest list also included former governor of the Falklands Sir Rex Hunt and his wife Mavis.

Les trafics shortsea ont une part de 51,45% dans le trafic global des principaux ports maritimes flamands. Notons que des 190,33 mio. de t de cargaisons traitées lan dernier à Anvers, Zeebrugge, Gand et Ostende, 97,92 mio. de t ont été transportées dans le segment du cabotage. Par rapport à 2000, la part du trafic shortsea dans ces ports a augmenté de quasiment 2%. Cest ce qui ressort des chiffres de Promotie Shortsea Shipping Vlaanderen.
- Le groupe Essers reprend Super Liner Cargo
Le transporteur de fret aérien Super Liner Cargo a finalement trouvé un repreneur pour ses activités en la personne du groupe logistique H. Essers. Les rumeurs quant à une éventuelle reprise circulaient depuis un certain temps déjà, mais lopération ne pouvait se faire que si Super Liner Cargo évitait la faillite. Le troisième transporteur routier de fret aérien dEurope opère sous concordat depuis la semaine dernière. Le montant de la transaction na pas été révélé.
- Mory Group a racheté trois sociétés en 2001
Cest dans la plus grande discrétion que Mory Group a réalisé trois opérations de croissance externe au cours de 2001. Les sociétés Europa, Sotrapoise et Ditrans ont été acquises respectivement aux mois daoût, septembre et décembre de lannée dernière. La première société renforce le pôle dactivité à linternational, la deuxième celui de la messagerie routière et la troisième celui de la logistique. Lensemble reflète très fidèlement la stratégie de développement du groupe qui repose sur les trois pôles cités.
