- Shell shows Enterprise with surprise $5bn bid
OIL multinational Royal Dutch Shell yesterday wrongfooted analysts with a $5bn swoop on Enterprise Oil that has put an end to the UK explorer and producer’s efforts to maintain its independence. Shell swallowed up Britain’s largest remaining independent oil company with a strong 725p cash offer that should keep at bay further rival offers.
