Pour Hays Logistics, cet achat vient compléter la mise en uvre dun nouveau schéma transport sappuyant sur un outil de pilotage des flux à léchelle européenne. Lopération renforce également lacheteur sur le marché de la distribution des lots tant complets que de groupage et express.
- La Febiac prépare un salon low cost du poids lourd pour 2004
Il est fort possible que la Febiac organisera en 2004 un salon spécifiquement axé sur les poids lourds. Il sagira de créer un forum professionnel pour le secteur belge du transport routier, afin de compenser labsence des véhicules de plus de 7,5 tonnes au prochain salon du véhicule utilitaire de Bruxelles. Cest ce qua annoncé Jacky Mouligneau, président de la section Véhicules utilitaires de la Febiac, au cours dune conférence de presse.
- Tower Automotive jouera un rôle important dans la logistique de Volvo Cars Gand
Un an après le premier coup de pioche, Tower Automotive a procédé à linauguration officielle de sa nouvelle usine dans la zone portuaire de Gand mardi dernier. Linvestissement du groupe américain sinscrit dans le cadre des projets de développement de Volvo Cars Europe. Tower approvisionnera lusine automobile de la filiale de Ford de composants de carrosserie sur base just-in-time. Le fournisseur produira non seulement les composants mais jouera également un rôle important dans la réception et la livraison de composants dautres sous-traitants. Le pré-acheminement vers Tower se fera essentiellement par le rail. Le transport entre les usines de Tower et de Volvo Cars au Sifferdok seffectuera par poids lourds, via un chemin portuaire quemprunteront des véhicules dépassant largement les normes habituelles.

Tant nos projets espagnols quirlandais inscrits dans le PACT ont fait preuve de durabilité et de succès. Nous croyons quil y a de la place pour dautres développements du SSS par lentremise des instruments déjà développés par la CE, comme les States Aid Guidelines et la future directive portuaire. Mais nous lançons également un appel au gouvernement italien pour quil suive ces guidelines européennes et introduise le système de taxe au tonnage afin de rendre la flotte italienne compétitive. Emanuele Grimaldi lors de la 6e convention Euro-Med, qui sest déroulée la semaine dernière en Italie a plus particulièrement insisté sur la nécessité pour toutes les parties concernées de considérer le SSS dans un autre contexte afin de rendre cette alternative économiquement viable.
