  • Result Danzas up 40 percent
    The Danzas Group in Switzerland, logistics pillar of Deutsche Post World Net, improved its performance in 2001. Net sales rose by 10.4 percent to 9.153 billion euro. Earnings before interest, taxes and amortization (Ebitda) rose from 113 million to 159 million euro in 2001, an improvement of 40.7 percent.
  • Roadway first quarter down
    Roadway Corp. reported that revenues for its first quarter, which ended March 23, 2002, were $637 million, down 2 per cent when compared to revenues of $650 million for the first quarter of 2001.
  • Still aircraft inspection problems
    The US government's program to oversee airline safety is plagued by poor training, inconsistent management and inadequate analysis of the data it collects, a report obtained by USA Today stated.

    By the end of June all Dutch customs offices must be connected to the New Computerized Transit System (NCTS), known in short as Transit.
  • Cathay sees slow recovery
    Cathay Pacific Airways plans to bring some of its mothballed aircraft back into service by mid-year as it gradually restores services cut after September 11, but it does not see a full recovery in air travel until next year.

    The Cargo Division of United Airlines announced for all domestic and international shipments tendered on or after April 19, 2002, a fuel surcharge will be assessed to offset escalating costs of jet fuel.
