Le transport de marchandises à travers les Alpes est à nouveau matière à conflits cette année. Lagenda est dominé par des aspects aussi divers que lenvironnement, la sécurité, les routes alternatives, le transport combiné. Lassociation des transporteurs routiers allemands BGL critique la manière dont les ministres européens du Transport entendent augmenter la sécurité du trafic alpin et plus particulièrement dans les tunnels.
- Liège se tourne vers Anvers pour sincrire dans les trafics containérisés
La containérisation nest pas une réussite à Liège et je profite de ma présence dans ces milieux anversois pour lancer un appel. Nous avons un terminal équipé pour ce trafic, des allèges porte-containers ont déjà été chargées et une récente étude a démontré que dans un rayon de 100 km, il y a un potentiel de 14 à 15.000 containers qui peuvent utiliser la voie deau. Cest peu pour un terminal, mais cela peut constituer un point de départ. Nous souhaitons avoir une liaison régulière avec Anvers et je crois quil y a là matière à réflexion, dautant plus quil y a possibilité de dégager le réseau routier de plus en plus encombré,
alors quil ny a quune quinzaine dheures de navigation entre Liège et les terminaux anversois. Dominique Simonet, directeur général du Port autonome de Liège qui occupait mardi dernier la tribune du Propeller Club Antwerpen a exposé dune manière très franche les problèmes auxquels ce port fluvial est confronté, mais aussi ses nombreux atouts.
- Le projet Galileo suscite de moins en moins dopposition
Lopposition à Galileo au sein de lUnion européenne samenuise lentement mais sûrement. Ce projet de propre système de radionavigation par satellite européen est également très important pour le secteur des transports. En décembre de lan dernier, les ministres européens des Transports avaient encore abandonné lensemble du projet pour une durée indéterminée. Une minorité de blocage, avec lAllemagne et les Pays-Bas en tête, estimait que le programme était beaucoup trop cher. LAllemagne ne sy oppose plus et tout laisse à penser que les Pays-Bas vont bientôt suivre cette voie. La Commission européenne espère et prévoit même quune décision définitive sur le lancement de Galileo
sera déjà prise lors de la rencontre des ministres européens des Transports fin mars à Bruxelles.
