Selon Peter Søndergaard, vice-président d’APM Terminal, qui occupait la tribune d’une des sessions de “TOC 2002”, le marché semble apprécier les opérateurs qui opèrent dans ce contexte global. Les plus grands opérateurs croissent d’ailleurs considérablement plus vite que la moyenne mondiale.
  • TPG lance des activités de logistique automobile en Chine
    Le groupe logistique néerlandais TPG a officiellement lancé sa joint-venture avec Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation Group (SAIC). Cette coopération, qui s’effectue sous le nom Anji-TNT Automotive Logistics Co, est axée sur des services logistiques pour le secteur automobile en Chine. TPG et SAIC détiennent chacun 50% de la joint-venture, qui dispose d’un capital social de 30 millions d’USD. La cérémonie d’ouverture a eu lieu à Shanghai mercredi dernier.
  • La poste britannique en pleine crise
    Ainsi que le laissaient entendre certaines indiscrétions ces derniers jours, la poste britannique a accusé en 2001 une perte record de 1,1 milliard de GBP (1,7 mia. d’EUR). Cette perte est due en grande partie aux importants coûts de restructuration. Comme prévu, Consignia a annoncé une nouvelle série de suppressions d’emplois (environ 17.000, à ajouter aux 15.000 déjà annoncées). Enfin, le couperet est tombé quant au nom de l’entreprise postale britannique: le nom de Consignia sera remplacé par Royal Mail Group d’ici la fin de l’année. Il y a quinze mois seulement, un demi-million de GBP avaient été dépensés pour imposer le nouveau nom.
  • L’Italie et l’Autriche s’affrontent sur le transit alpin
    Il y a de très fortes chances que la controverse entre l’Italie et l’Autriche sur le trafic de transit à travers les Alpes jettera de l’ombre sur le Conseil des Ministres européens des Transports de lundi à Luxembourg.
