FedEx and UPS asked the US Department of Transportation to reopen its 2001 probe of the Chicago-based DHL Airways, alleging that DHL's (or: Deutsche Post's) stake in the US cargo carrier violates a US federal law limiting foreign ownership of US airlines to 25 per cent.

A survey conducted by Shipping Australia revealed Singapore was the fourth cheapest at 47 per cent of Melbourne's costs - beaten only by Malaysia's Port Klang at 33 per cent, Lyttelton in New Zealand at 40 per cent and Tasmania's Burnie Port at 17 per cent.
