Employers at the Port of Los Angeles-Long Beach threatened to lock out dockworkers today if the ILWU should not allow enough workers to terminals. But operations resumed normal, the PMA stated.

The FMC announced its fact finding investigation into practices of transpacific stabilization agreement members covering the 2002-2003 service contract season, with the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement and its members.
- Trans-Pacific rates up
The Transpacific Stabilization Agreement, a discussion group of 14 of the largest carriers in the eastbound trans-Pacific, on Thursday said they intend to increase their freight rates by $700 per 40-foot container in 2003, with an additional $300 per-FEU peak season surcharge.

- Ark Royal visit fuels war speculation
