SAS flies through clouds of red ink
Scandinavian airline SAS announced a pre-tax loss of SEK 1.79
billion for full-year 2001. During the fourth quarter alone, SAS
lost SEK 1.14 billion, as demand lessened in the wake of the September
11 terrorist attack, and fewer passengers opted to fly Business
Class.
SAS made a profit of SEK 1.7 billion during the same period
of the previous year.
Turnover amounted to SEK 51.4 billion, up from SEK 47.5
