First half China-US trade soars

US-China trade ballooned 11.7 per cent in the first half of 2002,
reaching US$41.97 billion as China's economy continued to grow
and the US's began to recover, according to Xinhua. The General
Administration of Customs' (GAC) numbers revealed that the US
continues to be China's second largest trading partner behind
Japan.
