September 22, 2003 Al-Qaeda ‘planned to attack US ships’ Shukor Rahman KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 21: Al-Qaeda operatives had plans to launch a terrorist attack against an American ship in Malaysian or Indonesian ports earlier this year, according to US defence analysts. They believed that al-Qaeda had around 15 vessels at its disposal to mount "suicide ramming attacks" as well as to transport men and materials. Mark J.
