Asian airlines see 10% rise in cargo volumes this year
Strong Chinese exports to US help offset slump in passenger numbers
(HONG KONG) Korean Air, Taiwan's China Airlines and other Asian carriers may ship 10 per cent more cargo this year because of demand for China-made electronic goods and other products.
Manufacturers are flying more DVD players and higher-priced garments to the US and Europe for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays than a year ago, when air freight volumes soared because of a port strike on the US west coast
