July 24, 2003 Big Asian demand for iron ore blocks ports By Barry FitzGerald Rio Tinto yesterday confirmed the boom in demand for Pilbara iron ore but warned that its ability to exploit the situation fully was being hampered by congestion at Western Australia's northern export ports.
