INDONESIA's anti-monopoly agency has reportedly demanded that Hong Kong port operator Hutchison Ports Holdings shut down both its two Jakarta joint ventures, allegedly for unfair competition.

THE Dutch government will start talks with the city of Rotterdam and port authority today on financing a 2.3 billion-euro project to expand Europe's largest port.
- 133 ships released after rectifying safety defects
ABOUT 133 ships were released in November after being detained at European, Russian and Canadian ports for failing safety inspections, according to the Secretariat of the Paris Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control.

- O.W. Bunker announces opening of Antwerp office
The O.W. Bunker Group today announced that it has opened a new branch in Antwerp, named O.W. Bunker (Belgium) N.V, strengthening the company's position in the ARA bunker market.
- Bearish US data fails to push market much lower
Bunker prices, and in particular marine distillates, have soared this week. The latest US inventory data should see some of these recent gains reversed, however the crude market rebounded after heavy losses in the wake of the data to trade neutral to firm. Distillate futures have remained soft - which may signal a break in the recent surge in marine distillate prices.
- DOE/API show huge US product builds, crude stocks low
Both reports showed massive gains for distillates in particular and continued solid builds in gasoline stocks, counteracting the bullish effect of low crude stocks. DOE data now show that US crude stocks are below "minimum operational level".
- New year brings record turnover and new barges to Fujairah
ENOC's two new 60,000 transport vessels are now operational. In addition a new 7,000 mt capacity barge is now on order to boost the company's current fleet from four to five delivery vessels.
