A FURIOUS Stelios Haji-Ioannou has pledged to "take whatever action necessary to protect his investment in Stelmar" after OMI withdrew its merger offer for the tanker company that Mr Haji-Ioannou founded but does not manage or control.

The Korean government has initiated grand plans to become a logistics hub for northeast Asia, which involve the construction of 22 extra container berths by 2010 – something Mr Li will no doubt be keen to get involved in.
