March 17, 2004 Sapo makes port plans despite funding inertia By Samantha Enslin Durban - SA Port Operations (Sapo) is pursuing long-term plans to ensure Durban's port is able to handle 5.5 million twenty-foot equivalent (TEU) units a year regardless of whether the facility is concessioned. Themba Gwala, Sapo's general manager for the port, said yesterday: "It is important that we plan ahead", regardless of who provided for the infrastructure.
