June 2, 2004 Environmental group argues pilotage changes could lead to harbour accident By Michael Tutton HALIFAX (CP) - Regulatory changes that remove the requirement for harbour pilots on smaller ships increase the risk of accidents in Halifax harbour, an Atlantic Canadian environmental group claimed Wednesday. Currently all foreign vessels and Canadian vessels over 1,500 tonnes, such as some larger offshore supply vessels, require a pilot to be on board.
