Ministry backs SCI sale but wants govt to keep 75% stake

NEW DELHI: The ministry of shipping is not averse to the government diluting its equity stake in Shipping Corporation of India (SCI), provided it retains 75% equity which will help it veto a special resolution that may be brought by other share holders.
The government currently holds 80.1% in SCI. This view is taking shape in the context of a finance ministry missive exploring the possibility of SCI floating a public offer
