April 6, 2004 Minister Asks Chennai, Kochi, Tuticorin Ports To Cut Charges Our Corporate Bureau MUMBAI, APRIL 5: The Union ministry of shipping has issued a directive to the Chennai, Tuticorin and Kochi ports to reduce their vessel-related charges to the level of the Colombo port. The move is aimed at bringing in the transhipment business of Indian container cargo otherwise handled by the Colombo port.
