December 15, 2004 RP inks sister port pact with China By Marianne V. Go The Philippine government, through the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Bureau of Export Trade Promotion (BETP) has signed a sister port agreement between the Philippine Ports Authority’s (PPA) Manila and Davao Ports and China’s Guangzhou Port Authority (GPA). According to Trade Undersecretary for International Trade Thomas Aquino, "for our bilateral trade to further prosper, we need to gain access to international markets like China whose unprecedented economic growth would undoubtedly open doors to immense economic opportunities." ......
