JOHN Fredriksen, chairman of Golar LNG Ltd, has wagered US$1.1 billion on liquefied natural gas since 2001, buying seven LNG tankers without first signing contracts for their use.

HYUNDAI Heavy Industries Co has won an order from China's largest container shipping line, Cosco, for four ultra-large 10,000-TEU box ships - the largest ever built - with the Korean yard saying it has already designed a 12,000-TEU model.
- Tsakos pays US$90m for Delaware clean-up
TSAKOS Shipping and Trading, a closely held entity controlled by the Tsakos family of Greece, has paid US$90.3 million so far for cleaning up after a tanker under its management spilled 265,000 gallons of crude oil into the Delaware River in November, the US Coast Guard said.
