‘Bleak future’ for Malta Shipyards - management

As the Malta Shipyards faces one of its busiest periods, the management is seeing a very bleak future for the company in view of the prevailing industrial unrest which is adversely affecting work, both now and possibly in the future.
As the industrial action at the Malta Shipyards entered its third day yesterday, the General Workers’ Union - which on Monday ordered workers to work to rule and gave a directive to shipyard workers not to cooperate with subcontracted workers engaged both by clients of the shipyards and the shipyards management - yesterday morning wrote to the Director of Employment and Industrial Relations Frank Pullicino, requesting him to call a conciliatory meeting as soon as possible in order to find a solution to the impasse at the Malta Shipyards ......
