- New container ships will depress market: researcher
LARGE numbers of new container ship deliveries are likely to cause substantial over-supply in key shipping markets in 2006 but the oil tanker sector will remain in tight supply, a conference heard on Wednesday.
- Guangdong's ports, roads get 290b yuan boost
CHINA's Guangdong province, which has the largest economy in the country, will spend 290 billion yuan expanding its roads and ports, as it seeks to win to further investment from overseas companies.
- China Merchants' interim profit up 3.8%
CHINA Merchants Holdings Co, which has stakes in the country's five biggest ports, said first-half profit rose 3.8 per cent, after it invested in Shanghai's port operator.
