July 6, 2006 Oil: Prices hit record high on US demand By Matthew Robinson NEW YORK - Oil jumped to a record high above US$75 a barrel on Wednesday on strong US demand and ongoing tensions over Iran's nuclear programme. US crude CLc1 last traded US$1.22 higher at US$75.15 a barrel after hitting a record US$75.40 a barrel earlier on Wednesday.
