- Asian tanker rates enjoy longest rally since March
The cost of shipping Middle East crude to Asia, the world's busiest market for supertankers, may rise for a 13th day, its longest winning streak since March, as owners' confidence strengthens.
- Bunker volume at Indian port to rise
Port of Mundra, India's major bunkering port, is expected to see a jump in bunker volume in 2008, said a senior executive at Adani Bunkering Services, which supplies bunkers at the port.
- Cambodia beefs up maritime security to fight terrorism
Cambodia has strengthened its maritime security to fight against terrorism, transnational crimes and improve its sea environment protection, said Prime Minister Hun Sen here yesterday. 'I used to be very concerned that my country can become a safe shelter for terrorists in maritime areas because we lacked the materials and techniques to safeguard the territory. Now, we have cooperation with our friends and partners to combat all those terrorists and cross-border criminals and improve our sea environment protection,' he told the Cambodia Maritime Security Seminar held in Phnom Penh city with the attendance of some 100 participants from Australia and Cambodia.
