Guangzhou Shipyard International Co, the only Hong Kong-listed shipbuilder, more than tripled fourth-quarter profit after expanding capacity and shortening construction times. The company's shares rose the most in a month.

Shanghai, China's busiest container port, aims to make greater use of the Yangtze River for inland shipments as rising congestion and environmental concerns make road transportation less attractive.
- CMB fears US$ impact
Belgian shipping group CMB warned that 2008 results could be hit by the US dollar's fall against the euro as it confirmed final full-year 2007 net profit on Tuesday at 243.28 million euros (S$528 million). 'The evolution of the US dollar and of the freight derivatives (FFA) will have an impact on the results,' it said in a statement.
