- The state Legislature approved a bill Monday aimed at making
port contracting processes more transparent and accountable.
- The bill is a response to the recent Port of Seattle
construction audit, which revealed widespread problems with the way
the port awarded and administered its contracts and accused the
agency of wasting $97 million of taxpayer funds and violating state
law with a contract related to the construction of the third runway
