- As the death toll nationwide from Typhoon ‘Frank’
soared to 229 yesterday, more than 700 passengers and crew were
missing after a ferry capsized last Saturday off Sibuyan Island in
Romblon.

Mayor Nanette Tansingco of San Fernando town on Sibuyan Island said
the three survivors, who were not immediately identified, were found
in remote coastal villages in her town several kilometers from where
the ill-fated M/V Princess of the Stars capsized then sank
